About Deerhoof
Deerhoof are an American independent music group formed in San Francisco in 1994. They currently consist of founding drummer Greg Saunier, bassist and singer Satomi Matsuzaki, and guitarists John Dieterich and Ed Rodriguez.
About Satomi Matsuzaki
"For twenty years, Satomi Matsuzaki has been the lead singer of the experimental rock band Deerhoof. Throughout their tenure, the band's made one addictive and off-kilter album after another, bolstered by the striking vocal style of Matsuzaki. Her lifelong devotion to Deerhoof, though unplanned, is not surprising."

Listener's Thoughts - Sam Holt
Deerhoof, composed of Satomi Matsuzaki, John Dieterich, Ed Rodriguez, and Greg Saunier, is a California based band formed in 1994. Their music, while experimental, maintains a foreboding quality and uses noise masterfully. When they create walls of noise in their music it doesn’t overwhelm the listener, like some other bands have done before. All of the loud noises and the instruments form a cohesive sound and are enjoyable to listen to.
Specifically in Love-Lore, their most recent album, the songs loom over you- in a good way. They carry a very experimental sound, which is very different to their more upbeat and punky songs. If you enjoy that kind of sound (or even if you don’t), I strongly advise taking a listen to some of Deerhoof’s pieces.
Their work is available to listen to on Spotify, Apple Music, Youtube, Soundcloud and more.
